Paiboon Language Academy
Paiboon Language Academy was founded by Benjawan Poomsan (Becker), the well-known author of numerous Thai and Lao language learning books, CDs and apps designed for English speakers.
Benjawan is also a highly respected and experienced interpreter in the Thai and Lao languages in the US. She specializes in legal and medical interpretation, and also interprets at conferences and seminars both in the US and overseas. She has received many requests from all over the world, and many institutions in Thailand, to develop an interpreter-training program for Thai people and to help Thai adults improve their English speaking skills.
To create a fun and effective learning space for an online community.
To produce high quality lessons that are affordable to everyone.
To raise awareness of the importance of learning foreign languages.
To encourage our students to be successful in their work and in life.
What is Paiboon Language Academy?
PLA is an online training website for Thai and Lao interpreters and Thai and Lao adults who want to learn, or improve their current interpretation and English language skills. We develop videos that target specific items that need attention to make words and phrases familiar to the student with both English and Thai pronunciations.
Our training videos also include specific instructions on how to study, skills and techniques and many other training items to help improve your interpretation and English pronunciation skills.
Students are expected to be goal-oriented and self-motivated by actively participating in the lessons and doing the homework. Students should have a good working knowledge of English, preferably at the Thai Grade 10 or higher.
These lessons are not basic English lessons, and they are not intended for children to learn English.
Access & Affordability
We have priced our lessons to make it affordable to improve your interpretation and English language skills. Thanks to online technology, students are able to study with us anywhere in the world on their phones, tablets or computers just by logging into a special link on the PLA website, or links to their Facebook accounts.
